Anointed With Power

Scripture

1 John 2:27 But the anointing that you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you about all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in him.

Acts 1:8 But you will hold [dynamic] power in your hands, after the Holy Spirit has come upon you:

Introduction

We are living in a world that is covered by darkness
People are dying all around us each day
Covid 19 is no respecter of persons – poor and rich, famous and unknown, big and small.
We are living in hope that it will all just go away

a. That vaccines will stop the spread
b. That it will just burn itself out
c. That it will bypass us

But instead of going away, it got worse
This is because sickness is not only caused by viruses
There is Something More Sinister Going on

a. Satan wants to destroy all believers
b. He is doing this be either killing them
c. Or taking away their main source of power

We are to go to the elders for prayer
But now we are not alllowed to do that, to avoid spreading the infection
And people are dying all alone without help
What We Can Do?

a. Identify the true source of sickness
b. Identify What God has given us
c. Stop giving in to fear
d. Rise up in the Power of the Lord

Main Part

A. Power of The Anointing

God has Given us Supernatural Power to Deal with Things

a. This power is far greater than the natural things
b. It comes from the realm of the Spirit
c. The realm of the spirit is always greater than the natural realm
d. Our natural world was created by the spiritual realm
e. We live in a spiritual realm, like a fish in water

Acts 17:27 .. he is not far from every one of us:
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being;

f. But to tap into its power we need to move out of the natural and into the supernatural

Two Sources of Power Are Given to Us

a. The Internal Anointing Gives us Authority

i. With it we can use the name of Jesus

Philippians 2:10 So that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, those who are in heaven, those who are on the earth, those who are in the world below [the realm of the dead];
11 And every tongue should acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, leading to the glory and honor of God the Father.

b. The External Anointing Gives us Ability

i. With it we can increase our authority
ii. Traffic cop with a bazooka

c. By Combining Both we can Overcome Demons and Sickness

Mark 16:17 And these miraculous signs will accompany those that have become believers; In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
18 They will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on sick people, and they will become well.

B. How We Get The Anointing

The Internal Comes at the Rebirth

a. The Holy Spirit comes to live inside US
b. He gives us the power to live the spiritual life
c. He brings a mantle of protection

The External Comes With The Baptism

a. It gives us dynamic power and strength
b. This enhances our authority
c. It gives us a mantle of power

C. Activating What You Have

The Internal and the Mantle of Protection

a. Submit afresh to the indwelling Holy Spirit
b. Receive cleansing from all defilement
c. Much better than mask and sanitizer
d. Your mantle of protection is like underwear

i. It now becomes like thick armor
ii. Nothing can penetrate it

The External and the Mantle of Power

a. Activate it to increase the power

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, [ change your thinking] and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you will take hold of the gift of the Holy Spirit.

b. Three Steps To Take

i. Clear your mind of negative thoughts – faith, hope and love, not fear
ii. Lay claim to your covenant rights
iii. Take the power by faith

Conclusion

Now you stand before Covid, poverty and any attack of Satan
You are protected by the power of God
You have something greater in your hands
Command it to flee from you in Jesus Name
Command it to flee from those you love
Lay hands on one another and release the power of your mantle
You can do of this right there in the home
This is where the elders of the church live – you are one of them
